Ride 800 miles. Get back on tomorrow.

Custom motorcycle seats from Stitch On Time in St. Petersburg. Brian builds every seat to the rider's height and weight, with 3 to 5 inches of medical-grade memory foam and a cover in gator, ostrich, snake or vinyl.

Open Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 4 PM

Thirty years of medical seating, under you

Stitch On Time spent thirty years building custom wheelchair seating with medical-grade temper foam before putting it in motorcycle seats . The foam warms to your body in a few minutes and soaks up railroad tracks and potholes.

  • 3 to 5 inches of foam, set by your weight
  • Tailbone, back and prostate trouble, and amputations: ask Brian about yours
  • Short legs? Different foam densities can lower you and move you forward, and the stock seat looks the same when it's done

From the shop's comments page

  • 140,000 miles Seven years on a Heritage, and the foam was still good when the cover finally split.
  • 65,000 miles Eight and a half years, still comfortable.
  • 1,700 miles Florida to West Virginia and back, without a single stop for a sore passenger.

From stock seat to your seat

Live too far away? Adjustments can be done by phone; you cover shipping. In the shop's words, "It's a reason to plan a trip to Florida (just kidding)."

  1. Bring it in

Call or bring the bike in. Pans and custom work need an appointment.

  2. The fit

Brian fits it to you: your height, weight, legs and how far you ride.

  3. The build

Foam work averages five to seven days, and he'll tell you up front if there's a backlog.

  4. Ride it

If it isn't right, bring the bike back, and he adjusts the seat while you wait. Materials and labor are covered for a year.

"This is my 3rd seat that Brian has done over the last decade for me. His work is absolutely the best. His communication through the build is the best too."

"My tailbone and lower back no longer bother me, I am flat-footed, I no longer slide in the seat AND it is BEAUTIFUL."

Debbie, 2012 Softail Deluxe, from the shop's comments page

Evel Knievel rode with four fused discs and two rods in his spine. After his first ride on a Stitch On Time seat, he gave it a 95% for comfort, as the shop tells it on its comments page.

Questions riders ask

We've seen seats go five years and more. Weather shortens it.

Leather is like your skin: it needs regular care, and sunlight eats the finish. For everyday riding, our exotic vinyls are easier to clean, last longer and repel water.

Every seat gets a moisture barrier, sealed seams at inlays, and stainless staples.

Below about 65°F the foam stiffens. An optional seat heater fixes that.

Yes. We can also have a local fabricator build an aluminum pan for your bike. Call for specifics.
